THIS IS MORE THAN A BRAND.
THIS IS MORE THAN A BRAND. It’s a reminder that where you started doesn’t determine where you finish. My life hasn’t always gone according to plan. I experienced loss at a young age and grew up learning just how quickly life can change. But through every loss and every difficult chapter, I also learned what it meant to be loved—and eventually, what it meant to fight for myself. As I got older, life became more complicated. I found myself in a relationship affected by addiction. Although I wasn’t the one struggling with it, I watched it turn my best friend into someone I didn’t recognize. For years, I believed loving someone meant staying, fixing, forgiving, and fighting for them—even when I was losing myself in the process. THEN I BECAME A MOM. When my son was born, I was struggling with depression, anxiety, and a life that felt like it was falling apart. But looking at that little boy changed everything. I realized I couldn’t control whether someone else was ready to change their life. But I could change mine. So I did. I left with my son, my dog, and a couple of bags. No car. No job. No home of my own. No perfect plan. I started over. I worked hard. I rebuilt our life. I bought my first car, found a home, and created the stability I knew my son deserved. But rebuilding wasn’t just about money or a roof over our heads. I had to rebuild myself, too. That meant changing my mindset. I had to learn that walking away isn’t always quitting. Starting over isn’t failure. Changing direction doesn’t mean giving up on the destination. I’ve struggled with confidence. I’ve struggled with mental health. I’ve cared too much about what other people thought. I’ve made mistakes, lost people I loved, watched plans fall apart, and started over more than once. I’m still learning. Still building. Still becoming. But I’ve learned something that changed everything: You don’t have to stay the person you were yesterday. THAT’S WHY I BUILT DAKOTA DARLING CO. This isn’t about what happened to me. It’s about what I did next. The gym became a huge part of my journey. It taught me to show up when I didn’t feel like it. It taught me that motivation comes and goes, but consistency changes everything. You show up. You do the work. You have a bad day. And then you show up again. That mindset became bigger than the gym. It became the way I wanted to live my life—and eventually, it became Dakota Darling Co. PROTECT YOUR PEACE. Set the boundary. Choose yourself. You don’t owe everyone an explanation. STAY LOCKED IN. Motivation fades. Discipline keeps you moving when nobody else is cheering. BAD DAY TO BE A QUITTER. Sometimes the plan fails. Sometimes you have to start over. Fine. Change the route. Not the destination. That’s what Dakota Darling Co. represents. Not perfection. Progress. Not proving yourself to everyone else. Becoming someone you’re proud of. Not pretending your past didn’t happen. Refusing to let it decide your future. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO START AGAIN. There is no perfect timeline. There is no limit on how many times you can begin again. Start the business. Change careers. Walk into the gym. Set the boundary. Ask for help. Walk away from what is destroying you. Take the risk. Choose yourself. My son was my reason to start changing my life. But eventually, I learned something just as important: I was worth fighting for too. And maybe you need that reminder today. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need permission to change your life. And you don’t owe anyone an explanation for the person you’re becoming. That’s Dakota Darling Co. Yes, it’s clothing. But the words mean something. They’re reminders for the gym, the hard days, the comeback, and every moment in between. Protect your peace. Stay locked in. Change the route. Start again. Keep going. But don’t give up. — Taige Founder, Dakota Darling Co.
